The Review Process
IJP Open aims to create an open peer review process, in which working papers submitted to the International Journal of Psychoanalysis are made available, editorial decisions are made openly, and readers can read and engage in the discussion of working papers.
Working papers will be submitted to the IJP as usual. The Editors will make a decision to accept or reject the working paper for the IJP peer review process.
Working papers accepted for the peer review process will appear on IJP Open within 2 weeks, unless the author has chosen to opt-out of the open peer review. The working paper will be open for comment by registered readers.
Working papers and readers’ comments will be signed. Registration is free but the editorial board of IJP Open reserves the right to delete unacceptable comments and exclude their commentators from the community of registered readers.
Readers are asked to comment on the working papers. A comment can be a short reflection, a series of thoughts, or a more extensive piece.
The Editors of the International Journal of Psychoanalysis will continue to invite a number of reviewers. These formal reviews will be posted within approximately 5 weeks. Their reviews will be anonymous in order to maintain the high standard of peer review.
The author is free to respond to all reviews and comments.
Development of papers and final selection will take place outside IJP Open, and selected papers will be published as usual in the International Journal of Psychoanalysis.Read this page in Spanish, German, Italian, French, Portuguese
